Roswell High takes Portales in four games

The Roswell High volleyball team defeated the Portales girls in four games at Roswell High Tuesday night; 25-15, 19-25, 25-23 and 25-18.

"If we would have won that third game, I think it would have been a different story," Portales volleyball coach Ruth Chavez said. "There were times when we looked young, but most of the time we played hard - we played hard to overcome some of the young stuff. I was not disappointed. I think we'll find out what we're doing and what we need to do to improve and how to get better. We'll be all right, it'll just take time."

The Lady Rams travel back to Roswell later this month for a volleyball tournament hosted by Roswell High. The tournament begins Sept. 12. The Portales girls host Goddard Sept. 16.
