Muleshoe places fourth at 2A state meet
AUSTIN, Texas — Freshman Tyson Turnbow shot a 1-over-par 73 Tuesday, helping Muleshoe’s boys finish fourth in the Class 2A state golf tournament at Roy Kiser Golf Course.
The Mules picked up 10 strokes on the second day of the 36-hold tournament to finish at 655, but they lost to Sonora in a playoff for thid place. It was Muleshoe’s first state tournament appearance in school history.
Turnbow had a two-day score of 151 and finished tied for sixth. Also placing in the topl 30 for the Mules were Brian Poyner (15th) and Patrick Precure (27th).
Salado shot a 619 and beat defending champion Edgewood by two strokes.
