The match up pitted the Lady Longhorns 12-strong against the five-member Lady Wolverines.
"The girls played tough and did not quit," said Bea Lucero, Lady Wolverines head coach. "The girls know that we can not afford to let foul trouble and injuries slow us down."
The Lady Longhorns offense was led by Whitney Cordova with nine points and Jessica Aguilera with eight points.
Despite the score, the Lady Wolverines limited the Lady Longhorns second shot opportunities.
Lucero said the girls knew their assignments and just needed to keep playing hard.

Players on both teams had their share of bump and bruises. However those bumps and bruises led to fouls which kept San Jon in the led.
"We can not afford to be mentally exhausted," said the Lady Coyotes’ Tracy Foote. "We made too many mistakes and they had gave them a chance to get back into the game."
Foote led the Lady Coyotes offense with 33 points.
"We know what we need to do," Foote said. "We just need to concentrate on getting it done."
