Portales seniors to play in North-South all-star baseball series

Five Portales seniors get their last chance to shine this weekend when they take the field at the North/South All-Star baseball series, scheduled for Friday and Saturday at Socorro High School.
Logan Erf, Martin Mendoza, Pablo Urioste, Eric Aguilar and Brandon Adkins were chosen for the senior-only game, with Derek Robinson chosen as an alternate.
The series begins 6 p.m. Friday, with a 10 a.m. doubleheader scheduled for Saturday.
District 4-3A foes Dexter and Ruidoso have two players going, while Lovington.
Socorro and Cobre are both sending four players a piece to round out the Class 3A South team.
