Coach’s comment: “I wasn’t pleased with the first half. We did an alright job, but there is still some stuff that we talked about in practice that we didn’t do during the game. In the second half we got to play some guys who haven’t played much, so they got some good experience and stepped up. That proves that they are listening when they come off the bench because they hear me yelling at the other guys. They’re ready to go in and take care of business. I was glad to see that so I was pleased by the end of the game.” — Portales coach Brian Kirchner.
